Personal Project

I wasn't planning to enter my own personal logo as an ADDY entry, but I'm so glad my college instructor prompted me to enter it, because it won a cobalt ADDY Award. With the ADDY awards being the Oscars of design, it was an honor to receive this award.

When brainstorming my branding, I knew I wanted my design to reflect a theme. Food, plants, animals, something that would be fun and memorable. Enter... toast. My brother and I were creating accounts for an app and one of the default profile pictures was a piece of toast. One of us sent the other a message (as you do) and said, "You piece of toast."

I also wanted to incorporate my personality, since my brand is a reflection of me, and I've been told that I'm fun, energetic, and a little bit sassy! I began to brainstorm names associated with slices of bread and toast. After writing down a numerous name ideas and researching available domains, I finally decided on Sassy Toast.

I drew the font by hand and chose a bouncy, friendly style that is conveyed through the thick lines and round tips of each letter.

Paired with a small square of toasted bread featuring an adorable face, the logo was completed. I give you...
